In tough times, keep your mind and time busy! Idleness will bring you worry, depression, and frustration. This is the best time to get tough! Don’t let the negative situation take over your time. Take control. Make a decision to change the environment around you. Sitting home wondering how things will ever work only leads you into the biggest pity party of “Why Me?”

Build a support team. Your support team can be a group of family, friends or neighbors that meet once a week.  This is great for consolidating ideas from one another on what to do during the worst tough times.  Topics can be discussed on how to overcome financial hurdles, rebuilding a foundation in the home, tips on forming at-home business. With a support team, everyone contributes to keeping each other from falling apart and making constructive decisions. Meeting once a week or twice a month can be the most beneficial in solving the questions of, how, what, when and why!!

Your support team should reach out into the community with functions and sponsorships. For example, coaching youth sports teams for development, reaching into the streets for homeless people, providing counseling and food bank. Privileges are not taken but given.

Support teams will allow everyone to stretch out into a world other than your own. Have you ever noticed when your helping someone else with their problems, yours seem less.

Your attitude changes and you are more humbled in finding that your puzzled life is not as TOUGH as you thought.

A nieghbor of mine who is a single mom has started a support group, and I am one of it’s members. There is an estimated total of 15 of us.

We meet every Thursday at 7pm. We have had about 5 meetings, which I missed the first 2, and was welcomed right on in, for the 3rd one.

The meetings have been amazingly, supportive. Not to mention, FUN, and emotionally intense.

Before we leave, we close with a prayer.. It’s awesome!!!
