I absolutel LOVE this show! Oprah Winfrey needs to watch these episodes and put this show on her network..OWN! Good job Mr. Townsend, Mr. Roundtree, Mr. Williams, Ms. Carroll, Ms. Erma P. Hall, Ms. Monica Calhoun, Leon, Ms. Valery Ortiz, Ms. Janice Lynde and the kids!!!! The kids are great actors and actresses! This show needs to be on TV weekly for at least 30 minutes! Where are BET and TVOne?

    • Denise says:

Great idea about the Oprah network!

    • FAMUCharlotte says:

I’m hopping on the bandwagon that Oprah should put this show on her new network!!!!

Anybody out there good with Facebook so get this can get rolling?

    • SouthernGirl59 says:

We all need to bombard Oprah’s new network’s facebook page, “OWN” daily about Diary of a Single Mom and post comments about the show and list all of the characters by their real names. Post it on TVOne and BET’s facebook page, too. And other networks such as . . . CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, etc.

    • Lovely says:

I so agree with you SouthernGirl…this should be on OWN.

  3. Great job Leon, you continue to woo us with your acting. You show that you can take any role and make it your own, even in such a small part you take the show. You are only getting better. Thank you Mr. Townsend wonderful directing, we need more.

  4. Sweetlocs says:

loving how you incorporated a “previous on diary of a single mom” intro to this episode.

3 F’s Family, Faith & Follow-Thru – I love it!!!! Needed to hear that reminder for myself.

Another great episode. Kudos Mr. Townsend, cast & crew.

I absolutely love this story. Each time I feel like the stresses of life hitting me. Just finding the time to be inspired by this series helps me to dust myself off again. This story of single motherhood is recognised the world over and I’m based in the UK. Mr Townsend great work, its not only national its international via the web. Also great work to the actors and crew, so very talented.

  16. Tonya says:

I have been a fan sense Robert Townsend was on the Tom Joyner Show, about a month ago talking about this. I have been telling everyone about this show. I love this show and the acting is awesome. Only thing is, I wish it was longer or everyday. Good job all and God bless!!

    • Jeannette says:

That’s when I heard about it to…on the TJMS, not knowing that it had run two seasons previously. I hope it get picked up too. TBS loves Tyler Perry, so I hope they’re watching.

  18. Sheryl B says:

I love it, I love it, I loove-it!! If this gets any better, I don’t know if I can stand it!! Mike is a sweetheart. Only in the movies?

  19. CyndyBlu says:

I love the show, I”m just sorry that I have just discovered it. I love Leon he’s a great actor, and so is the rest of the cast. I just wish it were a little bit longer. keep up the good work. it’s good to see mr. townsend back at good directing. wish we don’t seem to see much of these days!!!!

    • Sharon says:

You are at a good point even though you “just discovered” it because you can watch all three seasons and don’t have to wait till next week to find out the cliffhanger…well at least not till you get to this last one. Enjoy, it is addicting!

  20. michelle says:

    Another great episode!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111

  21. Africankulca says:

Buying Jet magazine on my visit to the US was the best thing I could have done. I came across mention of this series and I’ve just watched all 20 episodes in one go! I love it and keep it coming! Each episode affirms positive messages.

  22. Tony says:

Well done! I’m a firm believer that greatness is where you find it. I happen to search for it in my friend Rob T! Thanks for the wonderful execution of these story lines.

  23. Tina says:

Hurry up with episode 5 I can’t wait! This series is uplifting even in despair. I cry with the cast and I laugh with them as well, oh how wonderfully written!!!!

  24. JONNIE says:

It’s so true that family, or the family that’s been created out of convenience or affiliations, can have an uplifting affect on weakening faith!..If we continue to fight the hard fight for our families well-being, we could all see a Brighter future*
The ‘Father (Jehovah God) is always there for us, making a way out of no-way..so with strong faith in him, and less on our circumstances; we actually have a good shot at being ‘Happy & Fulfilled!

  25. Janmarie says:

I am grateful for this series…not particularly invested in seeing it on a network where it may be diffused, diluted or destroyed to make it palatable, in the name of profit, for the “mainstream”. I appreciate the creativity and the way each episode is about the essence of the characters and their struggles as opposed to some contrived ‘sitcom’ format. The writing, acting and intrinsic messages are superb. Thank you to all who make this possible. :-)

  26. CyndyBlu says:

I feel for ocean, I know what it’s like to raise two teenagers, and try to keep it together. I too was a single mom trying to get ahead. I hope that ocean son finds his way through all his anger, and realize what a great mom he has. and that she really does love and care about him. good work monica callhoun!!!! It’s also good that uncle bo is there, having a black male figure is good when there is a young black male coming up in the world. I just hope that the american public see’s that we as black mom’s, do try and steer our children in the right direction, and stop stereotyping our black children!!!

  27. CyndyBlu says:

I just want to say that I believe ocean will make through. as long as she keeps the faith, she will make it through whatever waters she’s treading. we as black people relie on the only thing that we have been taught, and the most real person you can count on the heavenly father. I love this show because its not the usual negative image, that some television shows seem to get a kick out of, portraying blacks in a unattractive and negative way.

  28. SouthernGirl59 says:

I have ONE complaint about this series……….you NEVER see Ocean interacting with her daughter! That concerns me. She communicates with everyone on the show but her little girl. Her interaction with her beautiful little girl should be shown! It is very important!

    • pearlsrevealed says:

So true but “the squeaky wheel gets oiled”. Those teens are a handfull. The little Jewel won’t get attention until she starts acting up.

  29. Josie says:

I just wanted to say that my friend got me hooked on this show. I watch all three seasons and it’s now 2:50 in the morning. Wow, wow, wow!!! The cast, the script, the depth, the energy I could go on but I will stop. I have no word except thank you for sharing the gift of writting. Writting is such a powerful tool. I pray that you keep on writting more beautiful pieces and that this show goes on tv for more exposure. Be blessed!!!

  30. upfulsistren says:

The best Eppy by far!!! This is best show I love it! I am all about the 3 T’s and 3 F’s. Please keep…this show going. This show lifts my spirit.

  32. Tunisia says:

  33. 1magine, Georgia says:

Great Job, thanks for your time, effort and committment. I gain a lesson…a word from EACH episode.

Praise God, in EVERYTHING, if even for the small miracles!

  34. WebTechMom says:

Internet TV Network has brought an awesome show to us through good old web technology. Great job…….Audrey A. Jones

  35. Edward says:

This show is excellent just the way it is. It doesn’t need to be picked up by Oprah or anyone. Traditional Hollywood would not touch it because its too real and shows the power of faith.

This show can be watched with the family. When was the last time there was something meaningful on TV that brought the whole family together?

I saw this format years ago concerning the Internet. Robert Townsend has created a groundbreaking concept with the toolbox. Thank you for creating a wonderful show.

  36. ohsotrue says:

I so love Billy Dee Williams, he has moved me so much throughout this show. The acting on so on point it is great to see old school actors who really know their craft. Roundtree is such an inspiration, I know plenty of men like him, always willing to give back.

  37. Stephanie says:

Iam a late comer to this show but I absolutely Love it, thank you Robert Townsend for your talent, your actors and actresses are Superb. This show is so real, right in your face with real issues, keep it up, good work.

  38. Stephanie says:

Real issues, straight to the point. I Love this series. Mr Townsend your the Best. Your work helps me to deal with my own issues by seeing them right up front and personal. Thank you for keeping it real.

  39. ks says:

Luv, Luv, love this show. I just found out about it when Robert Townsend was on “Way Black When”. I am the single mother of two after getting a divorce. The job Mr. Townsend did with captured the day and life of a single mother and her children is nothing short of amazing. I relate to Ocean on so many levels it is not even funny. I love Monica Calhoun in all her movies. She is a phenominal actor. Kudos to Mr. Townsend and the whole cast for the story lines and the acting. I am spreading the word and getting on the bandwagon to have this series be put either on OWN or TV1. It is our (single moms) story and it has to get more exposure to one of the hardest jobs in the workforce.

  40. Lovely says:

Watching this show (each season) I’ve laughed, I’ve cried, I’ve hoped but most of all I’ve learned to survive and thanks for the BeeHive plugs, big help. I have my facebook friends and church members watching. Keep up the good work.

  41. Buffalosoldier says:

Leave this show just where it is. It gives everyone a chance to see it, stateside and abroad. I love it! I love seeing Leon this way. Thank you very much!

  42. CG says:

I love this show, but is it me or did they write out Ocean’s little daughter….also Oprah needs to get it together and pick this up for OWN her tired network….or TVONE or BET or that new Bounce but this needs to be seen by everyone

  43. For The Love OF Tina says:

    FITS WELL FOR CENTRIC.
