I was home sick today Thu, 3/4/10 and watched Episodes 1 – 13. I cried when Ocean had something good happened to her and I cried when things didn’t go so well for her. I saw pieces of my life in this story. I had become a fan on Faceboook last year but never actually checked out the series. I wish I had a Mr. Bailey and a “Mike” in my life. I am fine and my son has grown into a fine man. The real test for my son will be when or if he becomes a father and how he treats his child(ren)… I LOVE this series. Monica, Valery, Mr. Bailey, Senior, Trina (the actress is too, soo believable-I thank God I didn’t have to deal with the likes of Trina in my life), Mike, JJ, the two little girls. Thank you Mr. Townsend. I am going to share with all my friends. Thank you and God Bless you! You were always way ahead of the times.

I find myself excitedly waiting for the new episodes each week. I watched all of season one in one night and was an instant fan. Ms. West and Mr. Townsend much applause goes out to you both for your work. Please keep these series going, I will love to see Ocean achieve the dreams that she wants. I have told all my friends and family about this series and they have all tuned in. Much continued success!

I just absolutely love these shows! Thanks to Robert Townsend and affiliates for bringing real compelling shows to the public eye… this is the best show I’ve seen in years! It really touches on reality.

  9. Valerie says:

WOW!!! I get so drawn into these characters. I can’t wait to see the next show. It is refreshing to see a show that depicts real life. This show shows real heart and I’m glad that I got a chance to see it. Thank you!

I hope this isn’t an unfair statement, but I can’t stand when women put no good men before their children.

  11. CITYBLACK says:

    i love this show

This show is great…it should be on television. Lupe’s needs to get her life together. That baby daddy of hers is such a low life, but Mike is a good man and she just can’t get it together to be a good woman.

  13. Niecee Holden says:

This is too good for regular TV. It goes beyond entertainment. It deals with life’s lessons. Too bad regular TV can’t get back to this. I can see ‘Diary of a Single Mom” being used on a personal level to do some soul searching, and also to be utilized as the basis of a Humanities Course Study. Why can’t TV be like this . . . this is real and makes the viewer do some self analysis! (((Sigh)))

I just heard about this show yesterday and have sat here and watched season one now I’m rolling thru season two. This episode just made me lose it… tears streaming all down my face… Great, great show!

  15. CyndyBlu says:

I love this show and this epsiode! Ocean will recover! she needs to get senior out of her life once and for all. this show touches on the seriosus reality of domestic abuse, and the aftermath that it leave behinds.!!!!!!!

  16. CyndyBlu says:

This epsiode is very touching, and real. It’ just reminds us about the problem of domestic abuse in this country.

  17. Shauna says:

am I the only who realizes that something inappopriate happened between trina and senior. why would he have a picture like that of her on his phone and why does she defend him so much

  18. For The Love OF Tina says:

    Lupe is so irresponsible

  19. Mary Redmon says:

A show does its job when it can transport you out of your world into someone else’s. My life is nothing like any of the lives portrayed, but I felt every minute of every pain in each of their worlds in this episode, all while hanging off the edge of my executive chair! It was riveting!!!
