I love spending part of my lunch hour watching Ocean’s life, trials, and tribulations, and I impatiently await each episode. I hope she loses the baby and her husband forever (only because this is a drama series). As a single parent, I want to see all of them get a leg up in the world. So few single parents do.

Thank Ms. Cheryl L. West. You are under rated. I love the realism in the Diary of a Single Mom series. I am eagerly waiting Season III. I do hope to see more of your work on TV too. Oh, how I see my life in Ocean and can really relate to her. I hope JJ’s father and Senior get what they deserve. I read your bio Ms. West and realized that you wrote Holiday Heart. I loved the movie too. It is amazing how well you and Mr. Townsend work together. Please don’t stop what you are doing. You will revolutionize TV/Movies. You give balance and show redemption, not perfection, very real. I have an idea… A reality show with Black men and women with hidden cameras in their eye glasses. Then have a panel of psychologists and psychiatrists evaluate and breakdown what the average Black woman and man “swims” through daily. Maybe then society will have a clue why We seem so angry and hostile. Whew, I can’t wait. You are real.
I love this show. I enjoy all of these women and their life stories. I hope Ocean husband get lost somewhere. I am happy for Mrs. Avon, it looks like she might get her life back on track. I hope Lupe heal and focus on her children.

Oh no he didn’t…………. the shock is still not wearing off, I guess I should have expected it with all the name dropping, but dear Lord….. I didn’t. This is just too hard. I can’t believe that this creep stalks around waiting for the most opportune moment to attack a helpless woman. I hope that she is saved in time. I hope she faces this devil in a court of law and gets him put away for as long as it is possible. Every epi a new eye-opening, I don’t know how much more I can take… but I sure as hell know….. I will be there to suffer through it when Season III airs. OMG………… I can’t believe just how hung up I am on this Web-series. PLS, keep it online and keep it coming!
Poor Lupe, it doesn*t matter that she didn’t take the advice that was given to her over and over and over, I guess she knew it in her heart and just was afraid of hearing the diagnosis, but.. still… I feel really bad for her because she just doesn’t get it. Her future doesn’t only center itself on how she looks or how the person she is with looks, her kids need to be her priority and everything else will be what it is, no matter what. Maybe they can cut out the damaged tissue and she will have just gotten the scare of her life… hope she learns from it and starts loving HERSELF for once and showing her kids what is important in life.
Good episode… thoughts, compassion, anxiety and everything that it was supposed to invoke in a viewer… was achieved. KUDOS!
This eppi was THE best. I just wish Ocean and Mike would finally get together. They both deserve someone who will truly love them. So now when does season 3 start, Does anyone know?

I was fortunate to see Robert Townsend on The Brian McKnight Show discussing his new production of Diary, I must state, “excellent short film episodes, this is a must watch cast.” What I most enjoyed about the film project is that, the message to the story is literally written on the wall.
I love this show ,many people don’t understand what we deal with when it comes to family and close friends.
I watched all episodes back to back loved them all. I can not wait until the rest are available.
I love this show! There are so many character arcs, so many issues, so many story questions. What’s going on with Lupe? Will Peggy get off those pills? Will Ocean get with Mike?

Diary of a Single Mom has exceeded all of my expectations! Congratulations to Robert Townsend, Cheryl L. West, PIC.TV and the outstanding cast of this phenomenal web-series for taking us on a enjoyable ride that involves our own basic…yet complex…human characteristics. I am fortunate to have had the pleasure of watching all sixteen episodes today and I am patiently waiting for season three. “Diary of a Single Mom” belongs on our bookshelves, the internet, television, widescreen, and Broadway. As a single father…I sincerely thank you for showing strong black male figures within a family and community. I appreciate the level of professionalism the cast has brought to their individual roles. I can feel their amazing energy and I enjoy the incredible plots that have been written within the script. If Season three outshines the previous two seasons…a full lenght feature film would deserve nothing less than a Academy Award.

I sat and watched all sixteen episodes and could not believe how well written this series is. The internet is really a great venue and no commercials to disrupt the continuity of the program. This is an excellent series! The scenes it portrayed were very realistic. It was touching, inspiring, and thought-proving. I am going on amazon.com to see if I can be fortunate enough to find the series online for purchase. I can not wait until the premier of season 3. Kudos to Robert Townsend and the entire cast.

Wow, this is a great series! I really would like to see more and I am ready for Episode 17 and whatever that may bring. I love the characters and I am getting into screenwriting myself so I may just make up my own little storyline until the next episode is available.
OMG. I can very much relate to Ocean that it brought many tears to my eyes. Our thoughts are very similar. It’s hard to take on other peoples issues everyday along with trying to keep yourself focused. I really can’t wait for the next episodes. Great project. What a beautiful thing to do in representing us “strong, unique, black women”. We can do anything as long as we put our minds to it. I never believed that saying until I became a parent and began facing life problems head on day to day. I’m truley inspired and will be waiting for the next episodes. I told my co-workers and family about it hopefully more will see for themselves. Great characters.

I only became aware of this project yesterday, and I stayed up all night to watch every episode; I didn’t go to sleep until 10 am this morning. Robert, there are so many stories out there just like Ocean’s. Please….do not allow the voice and the silent cries of single mother’s to go unheard. BRAVO….from a single mother! May God richly and abundantly bless you, this project, the cast and crew!!
I loved ALL of the episodes. Awesome story line so true to real life situations. Can’t wait to see more episodes just to see where you’re going with the story line. Oops forgot to give mad prompts to Leon – I love the character he’s playing. For once he’s not playing the role of a player (smiles) but the role of a real stand up kind of guy. Can’t wait for him and Ocean to hook up for real. Loving you sister Ocean too, as well as Lupe and Peggy – ALL of you are doing an excellent job … got me hooked for real.

I stumbled upon this webishow by pure accident. I was captivated by the first episode. I stayed awake all night watching both seasons. Needless to say I am hooked. KUDOS to all of the magnificent talent in the show. I sure hope it is picked up by a major network. The writing is incredible. There is not enough quality television. On second thought this program may be too intelligent for sponsors or network executives to understand. I am anxiously waiting for the next episode.
I came across this show on Facebook yesterday evening and I am hooked. I am in aw with the plot and the climax of each episode. These shows are truly a work of art. I love the the characters and the actors chosen for each role. I love how the situations relate so much to real life events. I am a single mother myself and have not gone through every situation but I’ve been through my share and can relate to a lot of what’s going on in these episodes. They help me to see that there is a better outcome and I’m am truly not the only one going through these things. Thank you Robert Townsend for shining this light and opening people’s eyes to some of the many circumstances single mothers endure and not just with their immediate family.

I absolutely love this show. I’m a fan of excellent writing and even better acting. This ensemble of women and supporting cast members are superb. Why this show isn’t on tv is beyond me but thank you Robert Townsend and Cheryl West for bringing such a wonderful show to life. I am eagerly awaiting the next season!!!

I think this show is very moving and a little dramatic. I almost cried a few times, and I watched all sixteen episodes on my day off from work. I see a little of myself in Ocean. I feel lot more encouraged. Sometimes you isolate yourself thinking that you are the only one scared, but there are many others that are afraid like you are or even more. So I flex my muscles, and believe and act on my dreams! Thank you.

This show is better than any show I’ve seen on TV or the web in a long time. I can’t wait for Season 3 to start. Also, do we have to wait so long between seasons — can you negotiate an earlier start date for Season 4. This show is just that good!!!
I greatly appreciate this show. I like the way the main characters have been able to develop an extended family network, and that there are plenty of positive (Leon and Roundtree) black male characters to counter the abusive husband, and a more complicated male character (Williams) who I feel really captures an element of humanity often overlooked in the media. To be honest William’s character is like a big metaphor for the entire show.
But, I digress.
At the moment the story feels very (and yeah I know you’re a guy) male guided. All of Ocean’s role models, strong guides, are male. Whereas all the other women outside the two other single mom’s (not including the children) are off camera, and mentioned (and in one case shown) in a negative light. It would be nice to see a well balanced black woman, perhaps one of Oceans professors, who was the child of a single mother, or can relate and support. For some reason, it feels important that this character not necessarily be married, or even in a relationship, because as a woman I get all types of message that continue to say my ultimate purpose is to get a man.
I mean, right now Ocean’s one extreme; a martyr, the white female is too self absorbed (and I presume she will move to the center as her character develops), and the Latina is too my boobs are my only quality focused. I see that as they progress they will move away from these archetypes, but the male guided feel, is kind of paternalistic.
I’m not trying to be harsh, just presenting an observation… and yes, I am always this critical and long winded in regards to things I like, lol.
OMG! This was the best episode yet….can’t wait until the 18th of November for season 3!

I knew Senior was behind the photos the moment they showed up on her phone…and the look that Trina had when he kissed Ocean at the b’day party … but dang I didn’t think this fool would go this far… you got me on the edge…
I knew it !!!!, Ocean needs to focus more on herself, she is now being dogged out my the husband and the children. The husband is a loser, she knew it, second chances, it apparent that she has taken him back more than once. Remember this, the children will be gone and you are left with the mess. This really needs to be on TV.
Ocean girl, you betta give him all the fight you got. It’s time to do a “Madea/Karate Kid/Bruce Lee/Set It Off” on him. Don’t go down without a fight. And you better believe he is going to get his, God will see to that.
My heart hurts for Lupe and I wanna help Ocean kick…..Ocean you better act like you are Ali up in there!! Great finale Robert and on a positive note, Ep 3 is finallly here!!

Okay when I thought it couldn’t get any better , I love this series, why is this not television, where we can get a real 30min and I can fully enjoy this. Man I can’t stand what is on television right now. I am so happy I have something of quality to watch. The writing is excellent
