Hello Mr.Townsend, I am a first time viewer of this site and I can say that “Diary of A Single Mom” was pretty good. I was a little disappointed with the the ending and how everything was put together at the last minute. What I mean is we hadn’t heard anything about the little boy finding out who is father was for quite a few episodes when he was sneaking on the computer and what was the point of lupe’s baby daddy showing up drunk and strapped and she was able to subdue him with no physical altercations?? Oh, and why did Lou give “Avon” his card?? There has been no interaction between them, so the audience is left thinking ..”what?” my sister thinks that he knew she lost her job and he was offering his help.. but how could that be.. when he just met her that day..?? Anyway, I will keep watching for the second season this was just some constructive criticism from a faithful soap opera watcher!! lol I am still a fan of yours and keep up the good work.
I have followed “Diary” from beginning to fruition. This was a fabulous series and I hope it continues… You have to be willing to think “outside of the box” somewhat in order to understand the full dynamics of each character. Some characters I undertood better than others. I refuse to be critical of any part of this series because I know individuals that are living these characters lives! I thank Townsend and West for their dedication and artistic brillance. This series is about a lot of us! We should all make a consciousness effort to keep up. More “Diary” please…

Wow! Very Good. So much intensity in such a short time span. I really enjoyed all eight episodes. They reminded me of a time in my life when I was a single mom and my girlfriend and I took care of each other and our two boys! She and I are both now married and have come a LOOONNNGG way since then, but I know had it not been for our belief in each other, neither of us would be where we are today. I heard about this series last week when you were on the aire with Donnie Simpson. I agree with teridmc that moving to TV may cause you to loose some of your creative freedom. I am looking forward to the next series. Keep up the good work!

I am so happy to have found this site and this series.. I am an avid Robert Townsend fan from Hollywood Shuffle through his Partners in Crime series, The Five Heartbeats,even BAPS after I saw it a 2nd time, the Parenthood, Meteor Man (Hilarious and brilliant at the same time) and even his stint at the Black Family Channel. He always brings us a quality product. Somehow I feel Mr. Townsend has been shortchanged in this industry and we the viewing public have been shortchanged also. Mr Townsend has more than proven himself to be a very good director but he just doesn’t get the chances that lesser directors get considering what we are seeing in the movies these days. I love this series and will continue to support it and pass the word. BIG UPS to Mr. Townsend and hope to see more from him in the future.

These were absolutely wonderful! I watched all 8 episodes and was left wanting more. Although titled ‘Diary of a Single Mom’, there is something for everyone, married or not, male or female. All the actors portraying these characters are like a well-balanced meal. They are a great blend. I am anticipating the 2nd season. Thank you.

As a single mother myself, I was deeply moved by this series and could relate to the challenges we face day to day. Mr.Townsend, God has blessed you with such a talent. I THANK GOD that he has used you as an instrument to relate to those women who may be lost or weary and feel like no one understands. We know now there are many who truly understand. This was a program that I am glad that I took the time out to watch. It is wonderfully done. I agree with everyone else! This show needs to be a television series!!! An hour show, 13-15 minutes is just not long enough. Please don’t have the mother take the father back. If he really changed his life thats good, let him be a good father to the kids. But please don’t make it ok to go back to someone who beat on you. I believe in people changing their lives, but that doesn’t mean she has to get back with him.

All I can say is, I loved every single episode. I either cried or was near tears while watching the different stories. I never knew this show existed. I can relate to the struggles and of being a single mother. Being a single parent isn’t easy and sometimes I wonder how we will get through the month. I’m disabled due to a injury at work and my income is limited. I can’t get any help with bills because they say my income is over the limit. I can’t see how! I’m in need of a car because mine is on its last leg and I can’t get help. I don’t know what I’m going to do about transportation. I have Dr appointments every week and I can’t afford a taxi or a car payment. You can’t always reley on family or friends to take you around. I’m up for surgery this month but I still need help with transportation and paying for my medicine. This show is really great and I think it should be on a network because these are real life situations that sinlge mothers go throught everyday. Every single parent out there can relate to each of these women. Robert Townsend is so creative that he deserves to have this
I had no idea about this website until I heard Robert Townsend discuss his show Diary of a Single Mom on the TJM Show. This is a wonderful program. Congratulations to Robert! It is so wonderful to see a positive program of a role model in a single woman with a family making life work for her regardless of the circumstances. Thanks for giving Ocean to us through the internet screen
I had no idea about this website nor did I know about Diary of a Black Woman until I received an email from isee colour. I love it and it should be on prime time television it is great and I am telling everyone I know about this. Robert you are wonderful and keep up the excellent work……
This was so good. I am wanting more. What happens to everyone. It is so real to life of the many struggles that single mothers face. It doesn’t matter if you grew up rich or poor. Robert Townsend has done it again. I love his work. I need more of Diary of a Single Mom. This is deep and it touched on so many issues from children on the internet, rape, alcoholism, education, and family. Thank you for this.

Excellent series! I found it very inspirational to me as a single mom. This series was one of the most realistic looks at all that goes into juggling life, kids, emotions – everything. I look forward to seeing more. Congratulations to the filmmakers and actors and crew for putting together such a great piece of work that we don’t usually get to see.

I enjoyed watching every single episode…..I had never heard of this website, my bestfriend in a different state told me about it and said I would enjoy it and that I did……I am a single mother of two and could without a doubt relate…….I cant wait for more to come!!!!

Mr. Townsend, thank you so very much for allowing GOD to use you in the restoration of hope in so many lives. For so long I cried in the dark and though tha nobody would ever understand or even care. I can honestly relate with every character in episode 1 thru 8……I mean each and every character. Forever you will be covered by my prayers for the world needs to hear my story …Diary of a Single Mom. It is nothing short of a miracle how GOD heals us through the sharing of each other’s pain. May GOD bless you to continue in Divine Restoration…HIS purpose.
I loved every episode!!!! I am a full grown woman now children are grown. I was a single mom, they are now 29, 27 and 15. Being a young mother, I love the authenticity of each episode. Kudos Mr. Townsend.

i watched all 8 episodes and really enjoyed each one..this should be on main stream tv as a regular sitcom..loved it!!!

This episode went really deep into their lives. You could say it brought out the skeletons that had been buried that all these women try not to think about as they rebuild their lives.
this is my favorite episode of the first season, because it touches so many issues in my own life–especially the husband wanting reconciliation. keep them rollin’ Robert.

Truly amazing insight and portrayal. I am so glad that I stumbled upon this series. I found it completely by accident. I was looking for Robert Townsend because I just finished watching THE FIVE HEARTBEATS for the 3rd time. I wanted to contact him and thank him for his brilliance. I love that movie. Certainly am enjoying this endeavor ALSO. I was also very happy to see that LEON is involved with this project…i think he is amazing and this is a fabulous role and vehicle for him to share his talent! thank you Mr Townsend.
I am in awe of the writing and how it parallels the lives of single mothers I know. I only wish this series could air on TV. Anyway, this is the best show I’ve seen in a long time.

I just heard about this series on Way Black When and I spent the last hour and a half watching all of season 1. I can not wait to catch up on seasons 2 and 3. This is an amazing series, never disappointed by Robert Townsend~

Wow, just finished the first season. What an awesome drama! I found out about it when watching Way Black When on TVONE. Robert Townsend was on the show and mentioned it. I knew I would love it cause Mr. Townsend is so very talented. I can relate so much to all of this. Even though I’m not a single mother, I’ve seen all of this all around me my whole life. It’s so real.
I heard abount the show while listening to V.103 with Herb Kent interview with Robert Townsend on Easter . I just watch the entire season one. I enjoyed all the episodes.The show was not just about being a single mom it was about Love,Strength, Courage, Determination, Forgiveness,Relationships it was about life. “WOW”
So I found out about this webseries 2 days ago listening to the TJMS. I am COMPLETELY HOOKED. The first season was great. It’s a shame that I have to find quality programming online and not television. This is why I don’t have cable. Robert Townsend you are as they used to say in the 90s “da bomb”
My only comment is, This show should be on network TV. we should write to BET, TVONE, CENTRIC.

I LOVE THIS SHOW!!! I have never been a single mother but I can relate to the characters. I posted this on Facebook and will continue to promote this show…QUALITY PROGRAMMING!!! Already told my husband I want the DVD as soon as it’s available.
I just found out about this series and enjoyed it immensely! I wish this was a series on tv, as I and many people would be watching. How can “Teen Mom” be on, yet not this show? This is real life without the sugar coating, and as a single parent, I can relate to a lot of the content your show covers. I am grateful that someone in Hollywood finally decided to address a demographic that often goes ignored, yet is becoming one of the largest demographics. Unlike most television shows today, this show is actually saying something!
I am not a crier and you’ve brought me to tears. I’m a single mother raising a 4 year old and I feel their pain as if it is my own. Well done.
