How to Find a Job Online

Finding a job is a job. But knowing how to search for job online can make your life a whole lot easier. Help your mom, dad, or other adult in your life launch their new career with this how-to:

Find a job using a job search website

  1. Go to the web

    Open your Internet Browser (Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, etc.) from your desktop or start menu.

  2. Visit a job search site

    Type the name of the job search site you want to visit in your search bar. There are lots of job search sites you can use.

  3. Search for the right job for you

    Use keywords to search for job openings in fields you’re interested in.

Find a job with your local newpaper’s online classifieds

  1. Locate your local newspaper’s website

    Type the name of your local newspaper in your search in order to find their site.

  2. Search for a job

    Find their “Classified” section, and search their job listings using keywords related to the kind of jobs you’re interested in.

Find a specific job

  1. Visit company websites

    Typt the name of the company you’re interested in in your search bar. Go to their website.

  2. Find their Career page

    Scroll to the bottom of the page. Look for a section called “Company” or “Corporate Info”, then click a link that says “Careers” or “Jobs”.

    I haven’t taken your advice yet, but I plan to. I get so frustrated doing on-line job searches because I didn’t know how to go about doing it. Thank you but how do you reccommend follow up with jobs you’ve applied for on-line or if the company even received your application?
