I think that the whole scene where she tells lani shes “late” was unrealistic. When this type of thing happens emotions are higher, and they would not be standing seperated by a chain link fence. I also felt that the dialogue for this part was cheesy, cliche, and unrealistic.
Yeah, I think Tyler’s mom is just having a lot of trouble coming to terms with her idea of what Tye’s life should be and the reality of what it will be. Hopefully she’ll come around.
The two word no one wants to hear when you are in high school and have plans to go places. This episode showed how quickly a person’s life can change because of a pregnancy that was unwanted.
it must be hard figuring out or knowing that you might be pregnant. especially for lonnie who have a promising future and now its now it have to be put off for later in his life, and thats not even certain either
i really hope that continue to work on these projects; because they reach out to many many many people and there also very interesting to watch; their NOT boring and im soooo happy i found out about 9ine. The change from being just teens to form into adulthood to raise a child is truly an amazing transformation. KEEP IT UP!
I loved how supportive Tye’s father was. I know its not realistic, but it made me feel good knowing that there are some fathers out there who will push past their anger in order to support their daughters at a time when all they need is love and support. It reminds me of how my own father would react if I were to get pregnant and I wish more fathers would have this type of reaction.
I love this episode! I love how Tye’s father is understanding. Although many fathers wouldn’t react like this, it’s nice to see the story from a different view. In most cases the father is furious, and well everyone knows that story. Nice to see a different side!(:
I enjoyed the episode overall. One thing that I did not feel was very credible was they way Ty’s father reacted to the news. In real life, very very few fathers would be that supportive in the beginning. If I where to tell my father I was pregnant, he go to the extent of kicking me out, but he would most likely stop talking to me and treat me very differently.
Intense. Some of the time, you might here about that stereotype of a black father abusing or kicking out his child for having their own child, but Type’s father was incredibly supportive and loving.
the second episode kind of got to me , only because i loved how Ty’s father was so supportive of her and her choices in life , whether them being good or bad
This episode was very emotional. It amazes me how close Ty is with her father and how supportive he is of Ty. Her mother is physically there, however, not emotionally connected to her. Ty’s relationship with her is one that I truly admire.
I’m impressed with Ty and Lonnie that they tell their parents. I remember nobody telling their parents that they were pregnant, or got someone pregnant — everything happened without any adult input- help, or judgment. There was a lot of silence – and people in families not really knowing each other. I like the connections and the honesty that is happening in the families in this series.
This clip hits me from both ends, as a parent now and when I was in the situation where I had to tell my mom that I was pregnant at 15. There is nothing that can prepare you for that moment where you have to reveal the fact that you have been having sex, let along tell your parents that you are pregnant. As a mom now I understand the thoughts that went through my mothers head when I confronted her. I am sure she felt as if she failed as a mother. In reality I failed as a teenager because she was not accountable for my actions at the age…I knew what I was doing..but why did I do it?….Lets see what happens on the next clip!!
Wonderful and very intense episode! Great dialogue between Lonnie and Ty in the first scene. Just how you would expect young teens to react to this type of situation- scared and confused. Loved the fun-loving kitchen scene with Liz Vassey-Andrea and Elisa Catherine Taylor- Elie…way to go! Amazing work team 9INE!!!
Great episode! Can’t wait to see what Tyler’s mom has to say or will she blame the dad since she is working and he isn’t. I hope she doesn’t say he should have had more control over where Tyler is and what she does and who she is with. Should be interesting. Good job! I love it!
Personally I definately did not think that lonnies mom would react that way. But i mean parents react in different ways about things like pregnancy.

I think that if they didnt want this to happen then they shouldnt of had sex in the first place,, pregnancy is 100% preventable.
I didnt think that the mom would react that way. I also want to see how the girls mom reacts.
the guys mom isn’t thinking of the future and is just taking the negative to the extreme
didnt think the parents would react like the way the mom did of the son
My favorite episode was the one when tyler and her dad told the mom off because it shows that her dad really cares about the baby and so does tyler.

Liz Vassey (CSI) just killed it as Connie’s mom. She’s so good.
